Traditional haveli stopover in Sawai Madhopur, at the gates of Ranthambhore National Park and its tiger safaris in Rajasthan.

The Ranthambore Heritage Haveli is located in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, within immediate reach of Ranthambhore National Park — one of India's most renowned tiger reserves. The hotel features traditional Rajasthani architecture, with sculpted arches, jharokhas (projecting windows) and inner courtyards, and offers 30 rooms and 10 villas for travellers heading to the park.

Why stay here

  • Strategic location: just minutes from the gates of Ranthambhore Park, ideal for timing early morning and late afternoon safaris without unnecessary travel time.
  • Haveli architecture: authentic Rajasthani codes (local stone, sculpted motifs, patios), which sets it apart from more generic lodges in the area.
  • Intermediate capacity: 30 rooms and 10 villas — large enough for structured service without feeling impersonal.
  • 24-hour reception: convenient for late arrivals by train from Delhi or Jaipur, and for organising early morning safari departures.

Ambiance and architecture

The building draws on Rajasthani haveli codes: ochre façades, intricate stonework, spaces opening onto interior courtyards. The design engages with the natural setting of the Aravalli hills rather than imposing a standardised hotel aesthetic. The atmosphere remains serene — most guests are here for the park, and days are structured around safari departures and returns.

Expect a family-friendly, culturally coherent setting rather than luxury in the international sense: it's a comfortable stopover and architecturally authentic, more than a high-end resort.

Rooms and villas

The property offers two types of accommodation:

  • 30 rooms in the main building, in traditional haveli style.
  • 10 independent villas, better suited for families or travellers wanting more space.

Specific amenities and room categories may vary; we recommend checking at the time of booking based on length of stay and group composition.

Location

The hotel is located in Sawai Madhopur, the gateway town to Ranthambhore National Park, in eastern Rajasthan. Sawai Madhopur railway station, well-connected from Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, is the most convenient access point: around 4 to 5 hours by train from Delhi, and 2 to 3 hours from Jaipur. The nearest airport is Jaipur.

From the hotel, the park entrance and safari assembly points are just minutes away by vehicle.

What to see and do nearby

  • Ranthambhore National Park: jeep and canter safaris, by prior reservation, in zones 1 to 10. Zones 1 to 5 have historically been the most frequented for tiger spotting.
  • Ranthambhore Fort: UNESCO-listed fortress, perched within the park, accessible by day outside safari hours.
  • Trinetra Ganesh Temple: located within the fort grounds, an active pilgrimage site.
  • Surrounding villages: local crafts, Rajasthani rural scenes, best explored in the evening between safaris.

To extend your journey, several other Rajasthani havelis allow you to build a coherent itinerary: Alsisar Haveli in Jaipur, Hotel Bundi Haveli in Bundi, or Hotel Pushkar Palace on the shores of sacred Pushkar Lake. For a stay in Shekhawati, Alsisar Haveli remains a benchmark property.
